Bring the Alexander Technique to your rehearsal and performance, to your presence in daily life

MFA, member ATI, ATME, ABMP

Belinda Mello

Belinda Mello is a senior level Alexander Technique teacher and movement specialist in practice since 1989. In addition to her ongoing classes and lessons at AT MOTION, she teaches at The Barrow Group and at the Terry Knickerbocker Studio. She has been a guest teacher and artist internationally, and on the faculty of Brooklyn College for 15 years. She enjoys coaching actors in their character transform for roles on stage, television and film.

Often her help is sought out to resolve issues with chronic tension or anxiousness as well as balance and movement coordination. Her students gain a sense of well-being that comes with living dynamically and comfortably in their own skin.

Belinda is a member of ATI, ABMP, ATME and the AT Diversity Coalition www.AlexTechMotion.com

Member ATI, AmSAT

Dana Calvey

Dana has been in this work for 15 years, teaching and presenting both nationally and internationally, in varied settings. Dana's greatest value is facilitating students’ experiences to bravely uncover deep layers of themselves. She uses the Alexander Technique principles to shine a light on students' endless possibilities within; to unleash their creativity and open into their humanity.

Teaching highlights include currently working in three teacher training programs (Minneapolis, Philadelphia, and NYC) masterclasses (Yale School of Sacred Music, NJ Shakespeare, Stony Brook University,) and retreats (Florida, Ohio, and California). In NYC, she's delighted to be teaching at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, as well as her own private practice. She teaches at Interlochen School for the Arts Summer Program in Interlochen, Michigan. Her goal is not only to serve performers through the work but to facilitate the proliferation of Alexander's discovery in her lifetime. Dana is a member of both ATI and AmSat.

We excel at building agility, resiliency and presence in actors through years of experience with freeing up Charter Transformation.

Our work extends to all the performing arts, to presenters and speakers -- to all of us who wish to live confidently in body, breath and voice.

Belinda is a gift to artists.

by Mat Vairo, Actor

The qualities you see in her are the ones I associate with the best teachers, you know the ones, those ones who we carry with us for life. She cares, genuinely; and she takes the time and pays attention in a specific way in order to adapt to each of us as her students on a deeply personal level. Her passion and her curiosity and just pure love she has for artists, for art in general, and for the growth of our artistry in the classroom is infectious and inspiring--you could say that she embodies it like she wants us to embody our expression through our work in Alexander. She's also just a lot of fun to learn from, we have a great time in there!
